Nutrikids: Making Sense of Nutrition When Faced with Food Allergies with Sandra West, CNP, AADP, CGP Integrative Practitioner of Nutrition Saturday, February 7, 7 pm at Allergy Asthma & Immunology Relief, 1523 Elizabeth Ave., Suite 200 Charlotte, NC 28204
Sandra West will discuss substitution solutions for cooking, baking, and snacks. Substitutions that ensure children with food allergies get the nutrients their bodies need, and from a child’s perspective, taste good. PLUS, If you would like to bring your older children (8 years old and up), we have a double event this night…
While parents have a discussion with Sandra West, our kids, pre-teens and teens will get together for a GAME NIGHT! Food allergic pre-teens and teens and their siblings ages 8+ will get together for an array of activities, i.e. charades, board games, puzzles…(This is not a drop off event, parents must stay) Water only will be served. You do not have to have a child attending the Game Night in order to go to the PAK meeting with Sandra West. In addition, if your children are attending the Game Night, you must stay as well.

Food Allergy Education Event given by the Mecklenburg Medical Alliance & Endowment Thursday, February 19, 9 AM – 11:00 AM This year our attention turns to a topic that is much in the media these days…food! Open any magazine and you’ll find an article about food allergies, gluten intolerance, peanut allergy or GMO’s. Sometimes it’s difficult to separate… fact from fiction. We invite you to join MMAE as a Community Partner for brunch and an informative panel discussion of food allergies, conducted by three Board-Certified allergists from Carolina Asthma and Allergy Center (www.carolinaasthma.com.) Our panel members include: John T. Klimas, M.D., Gray Norris, M.D., Emily W. Langley, M.D. Books on related allergy and nutritional subjects available for sale, courtesy of Park Road Books; 10% of the proceeds will be donated to MMAE’s Endowment.
Gluten & Allergen Free Wellness Event Saturday, March 21, 10 am – 4 pm
PAK representatives will be doing a craft for children with food allergies and sensitivities.
