Thankful for 2018
2018 has flown by and what a great year it was for Parents of Allergic Kids! We now have over 1,400 members. In 2018 PAK:
Held a sold-out kids/teen event at Urban Air
Hosted an event with Dr. Eric Edwards, Co-Inventor of Auvi-Q, and Kaleo Vice President of Innovation, Research, and Development
Held two sold out PAK A BEAR events with the second event being hosted by a PAK volunteer
Hosted a food allergy 101 meeting
Had fun at park and ImPAKt meetups
Enjoyed coffee chit chat gatherings
Held annual Camp ROAR
Participated in the Greek 5k for the second year in a row
Had fun at our first fall event at Wise Acres Farm
Had a PAK volunteer plan and host a food-free trunk or treat
Participated in the annual FARE walk
We are eagerly looking forward to 2019! Our first event of the year will be held on January 27th, 2019. A PAK member and her teen daughter will lead a discussion on food allergies, travel, and independence. Our members will learn how anything is possible even with food allergies. This PAK family has traveled the world and their teen has done some long distance traveling on her own. We can’t wait to hear their tips in regards to independence in the teen years and how to travel with food allergies. We are so grateful for their willingness to share their insights. This event is geared towards all parents and children ages 11 and up.
January 27th, 2:30PM at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277 in the Parish Center Family Room.
Looking past January we are hoping to continue our beloved annual events, we would like to host more ImPAKt events, we want to do more advocacy work and create a food allergy 101 binder for newly diagnosed families….as you can see we are constantly brainstorming! It has now been two years since PAK became an official 501(c)(3). Your tax deductible donations are needed to make all of these goals and beyond a reality.
We are always open to suggestions, if there is an event you would like to host please let us know.
All our best for a safe, happy, and healthy New Year!
