*A message from Sharon about the trunk or treat*
- We are making a TON of progress with the Trunk or Treat! We have a couple of fun announcements. We decided to hold a pumpkin decorating contest at the Trunk or Treat (Thanks Traci Rubbicco for the suggestion). Everyone who would like to participate will need to bring a decorated pumpkin to the event at 3pm. The winner will be the pumpkin with the most votes cast by everyone in attendence. The winner will be announced at 4:15pm, and you must be in attendence to claim the prize. We will also have a contest for the best decorated trunk, and a prize will be awarded to the winner at the event as well! We also have plans for several games and activities: Spider Ring Toss, Pumpkin Bowling, Basketball, and a coloring table. It's shaping up to be a pretty great event! What we need the most right now are people who are willing to comit to doing a trunk (decorating a trunk and providing non food treats to trick or treaters). If you would like to sign up to do a trunk for the event (and enter the contest for best trunk), please leave a comment below, send me a DM, or e-mail me directly at: email@example.com. We are asking that anyone who plans to do a trunk for the event arrive at 2pm (an hour before the event start time) to set up.....and that you also remember everyone with latex allergies in your trunk decorating plan, and refrain from using latex balloons in your design.
The Following event is now full-Please still RSVP if you would like to be on the waiting list. Last time we ran this event spots did open up.
PAK A BEAR is back by popular demand! Join us on Dec.1 2018 at 1:00pm at the Mooresville Public Library 304 S. Main St. Mooresville,NC 28115. This event is for all ages Pre-k to 5th grade. Parents must stay for the entire event. We also need teen volunteers. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your child's name and age. This will be a great event where we will explore how our bear can take care of his or her allergies. We will also practice using trainer auto-injectors. We have to cap this event at 30 children due to space constraints. The first time we held this event it filled within two days. We will start a waitlist if needed. This event is free and is funded by a community grant from FARE. Please rsvp by Nov.24th. A huge shoutout to PAK member Stephanie Insley for organizing this event, we are truly grateful!
Our first event for 2019 has been added to the calendar!
Please join us on January 27th, 2019 for a wonderful event! PAK member Kerrie Lorenzo and her daughter Maleiya will lead a discussion on food allergies, travel, and independence. Come and learn how anything is possible even with food allergies. The Lorenzo family has traveled the world and Maleiya has done some long distance traveling on her own. We can’t wait to hear their tips in regards to independence in the teen years and how to travel with food allergies. We are so grateful to Kerrie and Maleiya for their willingness to share their insights.
This event is geared towards all parents and children ages 11 and up.
